FINAL INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT : GREETINGS CARDS.

5 series of greeting card.
 i have brief out some ideas in class after ms lisa told us the info of the final assignment.

is messy brief out-ideas sketch lol
my first choice is dramatic jail greeting card and the second one would be GDRAGON  one of a kind greetings. bahahah just having idol fever.
so, my final work concept is

DRAMATIC JAIL greeting cards.

i did happy birthday, marriage, merry christmas, halloween and happy father's day.

i forgot to take some photos of the process of making the cards and the envelope.

basically my jail theme and the main character is a boy with weird eye brows, big eyes as you seen above and his lover, a sexy lady with sexy red lips and red hair.

i posted this photo to instagram, my friend came to ask why you choose jail theme , and she said she speechless after she saw my cards because she think why i choose jail theme like cursing people as greeting people go to JAIL lol ! so the reason i choose jail theme because jail doesnt mean bad people inside and bad people always be that alone or no celebration at all. i want to break people who thought jail pople doesn't have celebration or something. plus, i like black and white things. so its kinda more into my style. *maybe hhaha 

P/s: not cursing people to jail..................................

the first on right side greeting card is HAPPY FATHER's DAY 
the last one on right side greeting card is HAPPY BIRTHDAY 

i used A5 size 200 gram paper as the background of the card and i frame 4 greeting cards with black frame and one white frame for black background. actually i plan to buy the envelope for the cards but hmmm they seem cant fit in so i did they envelope by myself. before this individual assignment present day, ms lisa have a tutorial in class for take a look on how our card progress, and that day ms lisa taught us the way to make a vertical and horizontal envelope and also some cute ways to make interesting envelope.

MS LISA advise for my cards. to make the black and white card more outstanding, try to put in some bright color like red into the cards. so i used red and green colour in the cards. the girl's hair colour and sexy lips.

the front of the envelope i used sliver paper cut it into long vertical and horizontal lines to make the jail.

and the back part of the envelope i cut a small black piece of paper and cut tiny yellow paper . for more it looks like DANGER sign. at the Danger sign , i wrote,
               "  KEEP  THIS GATE CLOSED AND LOCKED"

ITS COLOUR WHEEL ASSIGNMENT !!

we named our group as RAINBOW UNICORN ! 

basically we thought alot ideas and we finalize our last idea is

the pentagon shape with different colour tones.

first we sketch them first. briefing.....

we start our work at chia house whole day and another day at pod class.
i dont really have much photos for the preparation of this assignment.

danny and us getting fed up when we stick the pentagon to the window. the difficult part is the pentagon hardly to stick at the mirror and they might drop down anytime. so this is when we getting fed up look haha

this photo is the day before colour wheel presentation. we stay late at pod class just for hanging and stick the pentagon on the window. yeah pose ! finally we done ! we just have to present the next day ! :)

-why we names as rainbow unicorn loves diamond, because diamond is a important element in matter.  so too for colour. colour is a important element too. And the pentagon shape looks like diamond :)

Lecture 7 colour theory. we learnt the colour wheel history and colour harmony. the colour psychology
like colours offer an instantaneous method for conveying meaning and message in your logo designs.
colour theory is important because it help us to express our feelings in artwork. i learnt a lot colour vocabulary like the colour & emotion, colour & appetite.

ASSIGNMENTS 7 
in assignments 7, we have to based on the list of the ms lisa highlights lecture

BLACK    GREY   WHITE    RED    BLUE 
PURPLE    BROWN    PINK 

and find the suitable word font to portray an emotion that is linked to the colour list above. plus, we have to find a suitable color and word font for our name that describe ourself.

this is my assignments :)

Purple for mysterious. 
i choose the word font is like gothic words. gothic is seem so mysterious and noble.

Brown for earthy
the word font is abit like wavey wavey feel. for me, it like the earth ground. soil or something

Pink for feminine
the word i choose is same like the Barbie logo. because pink and italy word font is seem sooooooooo... feminine.

White for Purity.
i choose times new roman word font as white. purity is means like very very pure and simple.

Red for Aggression 
the word font i choose for red is like fire flaming, like anger.

Blue for calmness 
i choose light blue and the word font is like calm because the lines is straight for more effect to look more calm.

Turquoise for my name, eevon
the reason i choose turquoise because its represent my personality. Impractical person and love freedom :)

Clarity for Black
clarity is like something clear. and i choose this word font because its seem decorative font and clear.

Grey for Inconspicuous
the word font i choose is from micro soft words.
inconspicuous is like humble.

FEEL 

this assignments is kinda hard for me because first my laptop dont have any miscrosodt word yet and i have to use friend's laptop to do this assignment. learnt a lot about the colour theory, colour emotion and the suitable word font for each colour

paper cut out

lecture 5 basically we learnt recap all the Principles of design elements. Recap all the visual elements and principles to create a successful compositions. from lecture 5, we learnt that the balance , scale and the proportion . first i thought like to create balance the composition must be symmetrical but i learnt that the balance not only just symmetrical but asymmetrical can also have the balance as well.

ASSIGNMENTS 5 ! 
we have to create two different artworks using A4 size papers and using paper cut out and collage  techniques. one of the artwork must represents the balance & symmetry and the other one must be represents domaince, space and weight.

these are my first try paper cut out :)

this is my first art work. it is weight & space art work.
this art work called as INSPIRATION SHOWER.
this art work is telling a man who lack of ideas, showering the inspiration shower. that means the water came out from the shower thingy is all ideas. you can see that the water i cut it the pattern and inside the water i cut a lot square, rectangle, triangle that represents as the ideas.

i used a black paper to cut all the paper cut out and i pasted it on a white A4 size paper. Then, i pasted them again at a A3 size black mounting board.

this is my second artwork, is the balance and symmetry. this called as PEACOCK. this art work as you can see is like two peacock did not face to each other.

i fold the paper into two and i use the knife to cut the shape of the peacock, the feathers, the land and the "legs'' too. after i cut finished, i opened it. it became two peacock that did not face each other.
this art work is a last minute work because i did wrong with my first balance and symmetry paper cut out.

this is the third art work which is totally FAILED !!
because its seem so messy at the roots.
actually this is like a big tree with a lot branches and the round thing surround by the branches is the moon. and beside the big big tree is the houses. actually is midnight.

Ms Lisa said its like not good, and it so messay. the roots, the moon, the houses and most important i pasted this paper cut out wrongly. i pasted it at the bottom of the mounting board. hmmm .... seem so damn weird, COMPOSITION problem !

so i did the peacock paper cut out like 30 min before start our presentation for this assignments. pheww luckily i can did that. lol

FEEL 

what i had learnt is plan everything before you do somethings. bad example like the failed artwork i did. i did not plan it well to do that art work and the peacock paper cut out i also like last minute pop out the ideas from the brochure assignments.so no more do anything without a plan. 

Lecture 6,class activity : design brochure

we have our own tutorial and a lecture today.

basically we have a lecture about recap like utilizing visual elements and all the principles of design we learnt to create a successful composition. 

Me and Lee chia work in a group to create a brochure layout using any newspaper and magazine cuttings together with hand drawn elements. we given one hour to finish this challenge, and we both kind rush our brochure because our brochure is a  lot of hard work because we doing paper cut out on the first page of the brochure.

our brochure topic is about a jewelry shop called LUSH JEWELRY having a 60th anniversary celebration and the LUSH JEWELRY have a promotion and the history of the jewelry shop. our main color palette of this brochure is black and white. we keep it as black and white simple and classy like diamonds' characteristics. 

the first page of the brochure is the peacock image and the LUSH JEWELRY. 

basically we used peacock as the main brochure theme because peacock symbolism of nobility and holiness like jewelry. we think out an idea to cut the peacock image in paper cut out form that we recently have an assignments about the paper cut out. The LUSH JEWELRY word we used liquid paper write out in italic bold word font 

the second page and the third page is about the promotion and the history about the jewelry shop. the article of the second page me and lee chia think if like just black background stick together might be not interesting or attractive, so we cut out the same size of the article in white A4 paper and paste it.

the third page of the article is same like page 2 but we deicided to make some design or pattern on the background. i cut off some tiny rectangle shape at the upper article just for avoid the similarity with the second page. plus more, i add some wavyyy pattern on the bottom of the white background. Chia cut out the flowers ! its amazing right?!  hahah we mentioned the 60th anniversary and there a cute cartoon peacock behind the 60th anniversary word. basically the girds we used is baseline grids.

the last page is all about THE LUSH JEWELRY . some how we do some pattern like the third page one. some flower and leaves pattern to make the brochure more attractive. we do make a small white square to let the customer contact us. 

we dont have any cut out images but we did cut out the article from the taylor university brochure hahaa no choice, we dont have any article about jewelry in newspaper and magazine. 

FEEL 

what i have learnt through this activity is the cooperation of team mate, the understanding of all the elements that Ms Lisa had taught us. The grids, the composition, the margin and others are so important to design a brochure. Is quite challenging because of the time. we just given one hour to think what need to plan to do a brochure, what article can we find around the campus and we still need to think a lot in howw to present later if we did this ? why ? why we did this? 

After we presented the brochure we did, LEE CHIA and me was like '' PHEW''!! finally is over haha 

i like this activity a lot ! ;D
